Learn how to be a stylish, confident dancer today and have more fun at parties, weddings, cruises, and social events. Learn a fun new skill that's healthy for you, too!

September - 9/7-9/28 , 4:15 pm-5:15 pm, Beginning Salsa, Deanna McGill
Salsa is a lively, sassy, dynamic, and versatile dance that can be used at special events (weddings, socials) as well on the club dance floor. In this class, students will learn the basic steps, basic turns, fundamentals of the lead & follow, and the cross-body lead.

October - 10/5-10/26- Saturday, 5/4-5/25, 4:15 pm-5:15 pm, Beginning East Coast Swing, Deanna McGill
East Coast Swing is one of the most popular styles of Swing. You'll learn basic turns and dance combinations that you can use on the dance floor right away. In addition, we'll incorporate simple lead and follow techniques that will help you dance with ease. Get the confidence you need to relax and fun on the dance floor.

November - 11/2-11/23 - 4:15 pm-5:15 pm, Beginning Cha Cha, Deanna McGill
Cha Cha is a fun and exciting dance that can be used with a wide range of music - both traditional Latin and popular club music. Don't be surprised to hear the cha cha rhythm songs like "Mustang Sally" by Wilson Pickett, " Get The Party Started" by Pink or "Music" by Madonna. In this class, you'll learn basic combinations and variations that are fun and look good.

Note: No partner is needed. Classes are open role - each individual decides if they prefer to lead or follow. Followers and leaders will have an opportunity to dance with each other in group classes. We'll be switching partners, but if you want to stay with your dance partner, that is also an option.

What do I wear/bring?
- We recommend leather soled shoes or jazz shoes if you have them (no high heels.) Shoes that work best are those that are able to slide on the floor. Avoid rubber soled shoes (runners, gym shoes, thongs.) These make turning, sliding difficult.
- Wear clothing that is comfortable and that you can move in such as jeans, t-shirt, dress, skirt, and top.
- Shirts with large sleeves or armpit areas make it difficult to lead the follow - hands get trapped etc.
- Tight skirts tend to shimmy up the legs when you dance, and maybe a little too far.
- Flowy skirts tend to flair out when you spin, we recommend you wear some form of shorts or covering leggings etc.
- Avoid sleeveless shirts and strapped dresses, especially for active dancing. It is not pleasant to have to touch the damp skin of a partner.
- Do not wear rings that may scratch your partner’s hands when turning or leading. Also avoid large hoops earrings that could accidentally be snagged or yanked. Ladies with long hair should be sure that their hair style is such that when she turns or spins, the hair or ponytail does not smack the lead in the face.
- You will want to bring a water bottle to class to keep you hydrated.
