She’s back!
The miso woman behind the wildly popular tasting event last year at Sequoia Sake is back!
Mieko Swartz will guide you through a workshop of miso based appetizers. There’s eating, there’s learning, there’s some hands-on, and there’s drinking. Of course there’s drinking. The event is held at Sequoia Sake, San Francisco’s only and freshest sake producer!

Ingredients
For this workshop, we will keep things vegan, organic, seasonal and local as much as we can. We do use nuts, garlic and onions. Miso made with soybeans as well as barley will be included in the tasting. If you have a specific food allergy, please contact Mieko before purchasing your ticket so we can let you know if this event is a good fit.
About Mieko Swartz
Mieko grew up mostly in Japan, and has been cooking since age 5. She is the type of person who understands the world through food. Fermentation using koji and miso is her current passion in the kitchen. She started miso making as a way to water her food roots, and for good health. All types of miso used in the workshop are made by her. She also happens to be a huge fan of Sequoia's sake.
