What: In celebration of Carnaval San Francisco’s 40th anniversary, Acción Latina and Carnaval SF are joining forces to bring you a very special photo exhibition, featuring iconic, historical Carnaval images spanning four-decades.
Since its inception in 1978, Carnaval has been more than a festival and parade, it’s been a space to reconnect with our African, Indigenous, and Mestizo roots. The stories, dances, and colors of our forefathers come to life at the event to celebrate our triumphs and struggles. Although our roots are spread throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, our cultures unite in our annual Carnaval tradition.
