Hailing from Chicago, Rocky LaPorte used to work as a truck driver and dock worker before he started his stand up career in 1988. After winning several comedy competitions, LaPorte went on to star in several television shows such as Cheers, Pat Sajak, Comic Strip Live and his very own half hour special on Comedy Central. However, it was the standing ovation that he received after appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno that launched his career into the big time.
