Robert Hass will be giving a poetry reading and book signing at the publication party of the 100th volume of the Santa Clara Review, the oldest literary magazine in the West. The event will be held in the Locatelli Student Activity Center and is free and open to the public.
Hass is one of American's most celebrated and widely-read contemporary poets. He served as Poet Laureate of the United States from 1995 to 1997, won the 2007 National Book Award, and shared the Pulitzer Prize for Time and Materials: Poems 1997-2005. A champion of literacy, poetry and ecology awareness, Hass is a professor at UC Berkeley, actively engaged in promoting ecoliteracy.
