Today, Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Over 5.4 million Americans have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and according to newest research this number will grow to 16 million by the year 2050. Alzheimer’s disease affects over 120,000 Bay Area residents. We are celebrating our 5th year of RivAlz San Francisco and our goal is to raise $75,000 with over 200 participants and spectators. Across the nation, the RivAlz phenomenon has raised over $8 million in 57 cities to benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
