Discover art's capacity to celebrate profound acts of spirituality and love in 'Rituals of Devotion,' an exhibition of painting, photography, and sculpture at McEvoy Arts. Examining the power of ritual to connect us to earthly and otherworldly realms, the artworks on view explore bonds of love, alternative spiritual beliefs, and traditional organized religion. Altogether, the exhibition offers a meditative environment for contemplating how we confront the unknown in our lives.
'We Begin Again,' a program of eight short films exploring the transformative power of interpersonal and spiritual relationships, runs concurrently in the adjacent Screening Room. The featured filmmakers weave past, present, and future together around a range of identity-affirming acts, engaging with archival materials and cataloging enduring mythologies.
'Rituals of Devotion' and 'We Begin Again' are on view from March 10 through May 27, 2023, with a free preview reception on Thursday, March 9, from 6-8pm. McEvoy Arts is open Wednesday-Saturday, 11am-6pm, and admission is free.
