Chef Cy and the team at Rio Grill can dish out some mean Southwestern-style dishes that keep their Carmel Crossroads location bustling. Now they’re taking it from the patio to the golf links in the Valley – all to benefit JDRF and type 1 diabetes research. The tournament is played in a four-person scramble format, and there’s also a bounty of special contests for the best long drive, closest to the pin and more, even one for the kids. After the irons are stowed, players enjoy a buffet dinner, no-host bar, auction and raffle. This inaugural event is sure to become a mainstay.
