Relationship Discussion: Toxic Interactions– What Are Those?

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Feeling drained from a friend, spouse, relative or colleague? You're not the only one! Learn how to recognize toxic interactions and set healthy boundaries during A Wise Person's upcoming group wellness discussion "Toxic Interactions - What Are Those?" The event is no-cost, though space is limited.

Toxic Interactions- What Are Those?
Date: Sunday, March 22, 2020, 1:00 - 4:00pm
Location: Golden Gate Valley Library, 1801 Green Street, San Francisco, CA 94123

During the event, licensed marriage and family therapist Dr. Cecilia Lopez will teach participants how to spot toxic interactions and behaviors, including passivity, aggressiveness and passive aggressiveness. Dr. Lopez will also discuss ways to increase respectful assertiveness and set healthy boundaries. The event will include small group discussions on toxic relationships and breakthroughs.

Dr. Lopez has been practicing therapy for eight years in California's South Bay Area, and is passionate about helping others take their life to the next level. She has a doctorate and master's degree in counseling psychology and is a licensed marriage and family therapist. For those struggling with unhelpful thinking, uncomfortable emotions (such as fear, sadness, or anger), or difficulties achieving their dreams, working with Dr. Lopez allows opportunity to restructure thoughts, emotions and behaviors that can lead to mental and emotional well-being, balance, and the achievement of goals.

Dr. Lopez helps individuals restructure their habits and thinking with cognitive behavioral therapy and schema therapy. If trauma or memories of negative experiences contribute to pain, blocks or any unhelpful patterns, Dr. Lopez provides process and healing work through modalities such as expressive art therapy, person centered therapy and mindfulness (among other practices).

Go to drcecilialopez.com to learn about Dr. Lopez's practice and schedule an appointment with her. You can also connect with Dr. Lopez by participating in her social group "Restructuring Thoughts, Emotions and Behaviors w/ Dr. Lopez," a wellness Meetup group that focuses on expanding mindfulness and self-awareness (https://www.meetup.com/meetup-group-UixPlrQU/).

This event is held in collaboration with: Awkward Black Tribe and Vibes Called Qwest.
