LV Dance Collective presents a new choreographic work titled “Red Egg” that will premiere at the ODC Theater on July 8th and 12th, 2015 as part of SPF8 (8th Summer Performance Festival) through the Resident Artist Workshop and SAFEHouse for the Performing Arts. The work created for this project is based on the meaning of an egg through three key themes “Life, Lust, and Luck”. The work will introduce the Mien culture (Mien people originate from China), in an abstract form outside of the traditional “ethnic dance” variation. The work will take a twist and look at cultural perspectives/beliefs, power of life/rebirth/reincarnation, and lust not towards a person but instead food in a corky and comedic piece. The production is based in Contemporary Modern dance and will include movement inspired by the Mien culture as well as hints of Hip-Hop and Middle Eastern. Red Egg will make
you think about life, make you laugh, send you home with an uplifted spirit and with lots of luck!
