real talk: healing your relationship with food and nourishing your body

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us for an incredible evening of real conversation hosted at the gorgeous new Mission location of Mixt.  We'll enjoy a nourishing, seasonal Mixt dinner, plus an ice cream party from Smitten for dessert too!

Find yourself spending energy debating if that pastry is ‘worth it’ or canceling dinner with friends because you feel like you ‘ate too much’ today? Diving face first into ice cream, coming up for air after you’ve eaten the entire gallon or working out like crazy to ‘make up’ for what you ate last night? Well, you’re not alone.

We’re bringing together an incredible group of women for an evening of real conversation about loving ourselves, our bodies, and how we engage with food. Whether you had, have, or know someone that struggles with any degree of an eating disorder, disordered eating, or a challenging relationship with food and body image, join us to discuss ways of healing your relationship with food and transforming the way you think about your body.

Nicole Modic // @kalejunkie
Nicole is a Certified Functional Nutrition Health Coach, wellness obsessed mama of two young boys, on a mission to share her passion for a healthy lifestyle with others. But she wasn’t always healthy. From an early age, Nicole had a love-hate relationship with her body, and measured her self-worth based on physical appearance alone. All of this led to a long battle with compulsive eating and bulimia, that lasted through her teenage years, law school, and even in her earlier career as a lawyer. She is living proof that true healing from food issues is possible.

Ali Bonar // @avokween
Ali is a nutrition-fiend, recipe developer and above all: foodie. After struggling for over 10 years with restrictive and binge eating, Ali was inspired to start Kween Foods, a wellness company with the aim of empowering women to reimagine their relationship with food and ultimately, bring fun back into eating. She studied nutrition at UC Berkeley and can be found at @avokween or @kweenandco.

Molly Alliman // @balancebymolly
Molly is a Certified Holistic Health Coach who specializes in working with both men and women to heal their relationships with food and find their own definition of food freedom. Molly provides one on one coaching to individual clients who are recovering/recovered from an eating disorder and looking for nutritional guidance to achieve overall health. She uses her knowledge and passion to educate her clients on how eating whole foods can lead to a better relationship with food, health and self.

Moderated by Lauren Shaffer (@laurenshaffer) a holistic health and natural wellness advisor, who will help us explore topics including emotional and compulsive eating, food 'rules', compensatory behavior, trigger foods, feeling your feelings, and much more.
Each of these women have been there, done that and are helping normalize the conversation around these topics to help us all heal through sharing their process to food freedom.
