RAW 2013 Fall Festival: Unintended Consequences

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Barn Theatre (see times)
ROSS VALLEY PLAYERS presents their RAW (Ross Alternative Works) 2013 Fall Festival, October 18 through 27, featuring four original short plays that explore UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES, written by Bay Area playwrights. Each season, RAW presents two festivals of short works or full-length plays, selected for their quality and originality. Each play is a short run, minimal set production with full sound and lighting. https://www.rossvalleyplayers.com/raw/raw-festival-2013

RAW 2013 Fall Festival plays include:

Agoraphilia by Keith Jefferds, directed by Billie Cox.

It’s the fifth century BCE and everything is normal in Almyros, Greece — everything except Amphora (Alison Peltz), the hyper-phobic daughter of the town potter, Sabas (Dale Camden). Consultation with the local physician, Kalarophallos (Johnny DeBernard) is not productive, so Aunt Aeolia (Amanda Coran) steps in and sees that Amphora is shipped off to Golden Age Athens, where she blossoms under drama therapy. The Greek Chorus of Carrie Fisher-Coppola and Faye Zenoff narrate the action.

Hard Scrabble by Steve Koppman, directed by Sandi Weldon.

An “emerging” teen (Jessica Flaum) tries to share some quality time with her old-fashioned Dad (Alex Ross) by engaging him in a game of scrabble.

Panther by Dylan Price, directed by Glenn Havlan.

Hiding from police and on the run, Black (Gary Grossman), a tough and highly experienced criminal, meets his boss’s female associate, Chick (Amber Kernohan) in a café expecting to receive a gun, passport, and a bag of money. He gets more than he bargained for.

What Remains of Calvin Hayes Holmes by Linda Saldana, directed by Alex Kuskulis.

Police Clerk, Rita (Carrie Fisher-Coppola), has nothing. Her sister Sandra (Hilda L. Roe) has a husband, three kids, and a family plot already bought and paid for. When detective Garcia (Randy Solomon) puts her in charge of a box of ashes she sets out to determine just who Calvin Hayes Holmes was, and to return him to his kin. But no one wants him. Not his aunt Lacy Hayes (Ann Armour), nor his father Rev Jacob Holmes (Randy Solomon), or his ex-wife Yolanda (Anastasia Pritchard). What is Rita to do?
