San Francisco, CA: The Third Annual Queer Comics Expo (QCE) will expand into its new location at the SOMArts Cultural Center, 934 Brannan Street, over Father’s Day Weekend on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 11am to 5pm.
The Cartoon Art Museum and QCE are thrilled to collaborate with the Queer Cultural Center and SOMArts Cultural Center for the third annual expo.
“The Cartoon Art Museum is appreciative of these three years of collaboration and partnership with the Queer Cultural Center to bring the Queer Comics Expo to life, including QCC’s significant role of securing this year’s location at the SOMArts Cultural Center,” said Nina Taylor Kester, the event’s Co-Founder and Program Coordinator at the Cartoon Art Museum.
SOMArts will provide room for more exhibitors and programming, as well as an original art exhibition co-presented by the Queer Cultural Center and the Cartoon Art Museum.
QCE is also a fundraiser for the Cartoon Art Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving, documenting, and exhibiting the unique and accessible art form of cartooning in all its forms for over 30 years.
The Queer Comics Expo is part of the annual National Queer Arts Festival for the third year in a row as part of the Cartoon Art Museum's proud partnership with the Queer Cultural Center.
