Queens Read Celebrity Autobiographies

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Queens are returning to Literary Speakeasy! It is time for another evening of “Queens Read…Celebrity Autobiographies!” Once again we will celebrate the best of the worst celebrity memoirs to ever be published. This month we have six of the best Bay Area Queens to interpret and perform these trashy masterpieces. Please join Kylie Minono, Cruzin d'Loo, Migitte Nielsen, Tamale Ringwald, Intensive Claire, and ZsaZsa Lufthansa for a hilarious night of big celebs and terrible books.
The “Queens Read” series is all about raising money for Bay Area art organizations. This month we are raising funds for Oakland-based Nomadic Press, a not-for-profit “that supports the works of emerging and established writers and artists. Through publications (including translations) and performances, Nomadic Press aims to build community among artists across disciplines.”
To support the mission of Nomadic Press, we will be selling raffle tickets for a number of prizes. So come on out, buy a martini, get some raffle tickets, and listen to these amazing queens read some amazingly awful books!

Queen bios:
Cruzin d'Loo was born in a gas station on I-80 in Elko, Nevada. She was found in an overflowing garbage can by a bewildered pump attendant. Cruzin was raised in the gas earning her keep by providing entertainments. Thus began her lifelong love of junk food, truckers, and pay by the minute showers. Cruzin was ejected from the State of Nevada over an incident involving farm animals, a toothless prostitute from Hungary, and 2.5 cans of WD40. She had just enough money to make it to San Francisco and began a life of entertaining the tourists in the public restrooms of Pier 49. Discovered there by her now talent agent, Cruzin was booked in her long standing gig at the Oakland Airport Motel 6 coffee bar. Cruzin can be seen in some of the finest Holiday Inns all over the Bay Area. She is currently accepting offers of marriage — financial statements must be made available.

Kylie Minono Is a volunteer, activist, and philanthropist. She has served as Grand Duchess 39 with the Grand Ducal Council of San Francisco, is on the board of Folsom Street Events, and is currently a Director of Queens of the Castro. In addition to her community work she is also a popular performer throughout California and was crowned Miss Star Search 2015.
Migitte Nielsen is the current reigning Grand Duchess of the Ducal Counsel of San Francisco. Her role as Grand Duchess consists of the planning and facilitation of various fundraisers for charitable events benefiting LGBTQ community organizations in the counties of San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo. Migitte has served as a trailblazer in the Ducal Counsel by being the first cisgendered female to represent the role of Grand Duchess which has opened the doors for future cisgendered females to assume this civic duty, and has also proved as a challenge for her to demonstrate she can meet the demands of this position. Migitte says she is thrilled to accept the invitation to be part of this month’s Literary Speakeasy, and is looking forward to adding a royal angle to this evening’s event.
Tamale Ringwald is a spicy combination of bawdy, bold, and beautiful. Born in the vast expanses of Southern California’s dystopic opulence, she brings a particular mix of pop art, outlaw fashion, and 21st century chola realism! When she’s not fronting the electronic band Adonisaurus, or punk band Muñecas, you can see her perform at Lilith Bear, SQURRRL (LA), The Monster Show, Cocktailgate, and Mother!
ZsaZsa Lufthansa is an actress, cabaret performer, and satirist from Budapest in residence at Lake Merritt. She is the star of SF's Absolutely Fabulous and the fuhrer of Oakland's Port Bar Drag Squad! A descendant of the ZsaZsa Gabor family of stars she will be reading from Frau Gabor's autobiography "One Lifetime is Not Enough!"
