This annual lecture honors the memory of Sister Dorothy Kazel, O.S.U.; Sister Ita Ford, M.M.; Sister Maura Clarke, M.M., and lay missionary Jean Donovan — four Catholic women murdered on Dec. 2, 1980 for their commitment to justice in El Salvador. This series commemorates their witness and lifts up the Catholic sisters and lay women who continue to shape the Catholic social tradition. The 2017 keynote address will be delivered by Eileen Markey, author of A Radical Faith: The Assassination of Sister Maura (2016) followed by a panel featuring Sister Peggy O’Neill and Sister Cecilia Lopez Arias.
