Product Design Demo

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at The Art Institute of California – Sunnyvale (see times)
Within the tech industry, it is becoming increasingly important to broaden our skills and embrace new ones that are paving the way of our future. Product design is described as a whole process with many different factors that go into the design. From concept to completion, an idea evolves through a life cycle of UX/UI designers, graphic/visual designers, user researchers, data analysts, and prototypers to name a few. As we see day to day, current trends of messaging, virtual reality, all things “smart”, and data storage are consistently changing.

From hardware to software, and all of the components necessary for a product design, Tech in Motion Silicon Valley will be taking a deeper look into all forms of design.

Demoing companies for the evening:

Daqri is a global technology leader that is fundamentally transforming the way people deliver and interact with information through a powerful new medium, 4D. The Wearhaus Arc is the world's first Bluetooth headphones that let you wirelessly sync music with multiple people around you. Beyond precision tuned audio and social listening, the Arc design was intended to be sleek but identifiable with and customizable LED light rings.

VivaLnk Inc. is a Silicon Valley technology company developing integrated solutions with its ultra-thin and flexible eSkinâ„¢ wearable technology platform. eSkinâ„¢ technology has made it possible for VivaLnk to create thin, flexible electronics that are adhesive, inexpensive, and disposable, and can communicate with smartphones and tablets. The Company works with commercial partners to implement its technology with innovative solutions that will transform and simplify everyday lives.

With a gesture, Nixie takes off, captures the moment, and comes right back. Offering multiple modes, a new perspective with action shots from the air, and high def 1080p video and crisp images of your greatest moments, taken by your own autonomous flying camera.

Palate Home helps people create amazing meals at home through a portfolio of connected cooking devices. The Palate Smart Grill is a precision-temperature electric grill controlled with an iPad to cook meat, fish and vegetables perfectly every time. Their software interface lets you set parameters tailored to your palate, just like a restaurant: NY strip steak, medium rare. They are passionate about food and see great potential to revolutionize the kitchen where they are still in the Paleolithic era, putting meat into the fire and wondering why it sometimes comes out burnt, and sometimes raw. An amazing meal at the renowned Alinea restaurant in Chicago introduced the founders to the technique of sous vide. They have adopted its theories and power for the mass market to bring truly smart devices into the home kitchen.

Zackees Inc is a new startup in San Francisco aiming to make cycling safer. Their first product, "Zackees Turn Signal Gloves" places an LED arrow on a cyclists hands so that they can communicate their turning intentions to other cars on the road. Launched on Kickstarter to rave international reviews and large pre-order sales, Zackees is now shipping to customers across the world!

Boosted, Inc. designs and manufactures lightweight electric vehicles that have become the fastest and most exciting way to travel short distances in urban environments. Boosted boards weigh only 15 lbs but have enough power to climb San Francisco hills. The intuitive software and wireless hand controller makes it easy to control your speed and even come to a stop using regenerative braking. Boosted launched on Kickstarter in September 2012 and recently announced an expansion of their electric longboard line up to include the Single, Dual, and Dual+.

Myriad Sensors develops wireless "Internet of Things" sensor devices for science, hobbyists, and education. Their first product, the PocketLab, is a wireless multi-sensor and software platform that enables anyone to engage in open ended science exploration and easily build hands on science experiments.

FlameStower designs and manufactures energy products and services for global markets. FlameStower's first products focus on mobile phone charging for applications where electricity is unavailable.
