Press Conference and Free Luncheon for Eva Chao for BART Board

SEE EVENT DETAILS
James Fang, former BART director for District 8 is hosting a press conference for Eva Chao, candidate for BART Board for the same district. The press conference will go from 1130am - 1215pm in Chinatown, SF at Far East Cafe. Free luncheon to follow. Mr. Fang and another 10 community leaders from the police and transit fields will speak. We hope to have 40 supporters show up to lend support and hold Eva-for-BART-Board signs.A bit background about Eva Chao:Eva is in private sector all her life. She was recruited and persuaded to run. BART $2.3 billion a year budget was covered only 24% by fares. The remaining are by taxpayers in forms of income tax, property tax, district tax, bonds, etc.The mission of the BART is safe, clean, and reliable transit. In July'18, 3 deaths happened on/around BART platform/vicinity. Needles were found on seats. Fare evasion, people jumping over the gates are common issues. The BART has failed to deliver on its very basic mission. Now, it is getting into building high-density residences, taking away parkings for drivers who left their cars to ride BART into the city. BART has deviated from its mission.Eva wants to stay true to BART's original mission; i.e. safe, clean and reliable transit. And be accountable to riders, taxpayers and workers in that order. Please come out to support Eva.Please feel free to invite friends. Thanks!
