Posture Clinic presents: Smart Devices. Smart Posture?
              -A Problem-Solving Workshop

The Problem: Whether at the office or on-the-go, working with our devices places huge demands on the body.  It can lead to serious health consequences when poor postural habits are unconsciously maintained for long periods of time.  Symptoms such as back, neck or wrist pain, headaches, impaired breathing, compressed spinal discs, etc., can be prevented by incorporating simple and effective tools that the Alexander Technique has to offer.

The Solution: In this workshop, you will learn:

How to set up a more body-friendly workstation at the office
Ergonomic principles that can be taken “to-go”
How to identify habitual work patterns that negatively affect your well-being
How to recalibrate your awareness in order to stay pain-free

This is an interactive workshop. Bring all your questions and observations about your typical work set-up, devices and challenges, along with a willingness to unlearn ingrained habitual movement patterns.  You come first, the machine second!

Flora D.H. Ojanen is the owner of Walk In Balance Alexander Technique Center (walkinbalance.net), as well as a Yoga Alliance-certified yoga teacher and ergonomic consultant.  In addition to teaching private and group Alexander Technique sessions, she also teaches onsite at Bay Area companies.  Flora has the highest regards for the Alexander Technique as the most practical way to ease and prevent the leading influence of all disease: Stress.  In her teachings, she identifies creative ways to help her students develop their own inner potential and self-help skills through self-awareness and self-guidance that they can apply to every aspect of their lives.
