As a part of our "Year of Ethnobotany" celebrations, the Garden will be hosting monthly lunch time lectures featuring the research of UC Berkeley graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, and faculty.

About the Speaker:
David Gilbert is a Ciriacy Wantrup Fellow in Political Economy at University of California, Berkeley, in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. David received a PhD in Anthropology from Stanford University in 2018. His research is focused on environmental change and social movements in Sumatra, Indonesia. David's writing and photography have been published in a range of outlets, academic and popular, from the Journal of Peasant Studies to the New York Times.
