Come join us for this fantastic event celebrating San Francisco Pride weekend and the rich diversity of District 10. DJ Legendary Spiider and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be hosting and judging the first Bayview Ball!
WHAT IS A BALL?
In its most simplistic description a ball is a dance competition. Modern ballroom culture began in Harlem more than 50 years ago, and has evolved over the past five decades. Though it has grown more mainstream due to pop culture references, the scene remains largely underground and is primarily a community for QTPOC (Queer and Trans People of Color) youth to create and perform.

Every Ball is different, but we highly encourage you to search for videos on YouTube, on DJ Spiider’s page, or even watch the movie Paris is Burning to watch some amazing people “walk.”

Wear whatever you’d like! If you’re planning to compete then the category requirements are below, but there is no formal dress-codes for the event.

If your REAL this should be a walk in the park: Male Figure: IN WHITE AND PINK
Female Figure: it’s pride and we want to see some skin!!! arms out and sneakers on, bring it in jeans and a pink top!!

PAINTED OR WASHED FACE don’t forget your pink lipstick or gloss!!

MF: boots and a colorful jockstrap
