Mission Statement
Photo Patron is an online gallery created to empower and finance photographers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Unlike traditional galleries, all of our content is democratically curated by our users. Let's take a step toward supporting local artists; Bay Area Photographers unite!
Context
Photography has never seen greater accessibility. Technology continues to provide less expensive, higher quality digital cameras. As a result, more and more people are capturing compelling images on a daily basis. Yet, how can we find the beautiful images scattered in people’s homes, iPhoto Libraries, personal online galleries, etcetera? Photo Patron is a humble attempt to filter and highlight these unseen moments, provide financial support to the photographers that have this unique skill set, and to help build a local community of artists.
