Pets Lifeline, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of cats and dogs in need throughout the Sonoma Valley, is pleased to announce a series of holiday events to raise funds and encourage pet adoptions on December 2 and 3, 2022. An integral part of the community for over three decades, Pets Lifeline offers the only safety net for stray and abandoned animals in Sonoma Valley.
The seasonal festivities will begin on Friday, December 2 with Pets Lifeline's annual Miracle on 8th Street Gala at 6 p.m. The organization's recently renovated facility will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland with a gourmet dinner catered by the beloved Sonoma restaurant, the girl & the fig, with fun festivities including a photo booth, a small elegant auction, and Secret Santa prizes. Tickets are now available to purchase for $275.
"We are excited to host a weekend of holiday fun, all in the name of raising funds to support the animals at Pets Lifeline," said Nancy King, CEO of Pets Lifeline. "This year, we have seen an increased influx of animals surrendered, mainly due to the impacts of the pandemic and the current economic uncertainty. It is vital to raise awareness and support to help these animals find resources and loving homes in time for the holiday season."
Pets Lifeline's newly renovated state-of-the-art facility opened in 2021 and has transformed the organization's home from a makeshift shelter to a modern animal resource center. The modernized and expanded resource center features an open, light-filled space, indoor/outdoor see-through enclosures for dogs to play or rest, dedicated cat rooms for kittens, older cats and feral cats, well-equipped classrooms for young children to learn about compassion and respect for all living things, and comfortable dedicated spaces for community members to happily interact with the animals.
