Peruvian food is a richly flavored mix of culinary traditions from Europe, Africa, and Asia blended with the indigenous techniques and ingredients from the New World. Come learn to make several traditional Peruvian recipes that will turn your next dinner party into a true fiesta Peruana. You will marinate shrimp and fish in a spicy leche de tigre sauce for a traditional cebiche. You will make Papas a la Huancaina, sliced boiled potatoes in a creamy dressing served over salad greens. You will stir-fry beef and together with spices, tomatoes and french fries to create a classic Lomo Saltado and serve it with tacu tacu a rice and bean pancake typical to this region. Dessert will be picarones - doughnuts made with pumpkin and sweet potato, fried and drizzled with brown sugar syrup. You will also make Chicha Morada, a traditional sweet drink made from purple corn and pineapple.
