"Peak Show"the Peak Design employee exhibition space
Peak Design is a group of travelers, creatives, makers, designers, photographers and everything in between. The Flagship store created the Peak Show to celebrate all the wonderful projects Peak employees work on; inside and outside of work. February’s Peak Show stars one of flagship's very own, Brooks Fletcher. Come check out his one-of-a-kind photography and take a peek into a world of illusions and perception-altering experiences. We'll be serving up a good time along with some drinks (21 and older).
Unable to make it on February 13th? Brooks' work will be on display through March 27th during the store's normal business hours: Tuesday – Sunday from 11a to 7p. Closed Monday
A Message from Brooks
The photographs being shown are from an ongoing series, "Investigation II: Planes and Perception." They are from a project titled The Intimate Vessel. In this particular series, I photograph poles, lines, and shadows at a wide depth of field; disrupting the viewer's interpretation of the depicted scene and highlighting the malleable nature of perception. Each of these scenes is photographed using 4 x 5 color transparency film and placed in a backlit frame of my own design and craftsmanship; rendering each experience with a truthfulness one has to see to believe. This body of work was designed to extend a thoughtful yet pragmatic approach toward understanding ‘the Photograph' as a transformational tool and photography as a transformative practice. I hope you enjoy.
