January 27 - February 11; Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Saturdays Feb 3 & 10, 2pm; Sundays Jan 28 & Feb 11, 2pm
Pacific Coast Repertory Company kicks off 2018 with "Noises Off," the hilarious Tony award winning play-within-a-play that lovingly pokes fun at everything that can possibly go wrong for a delightfully dysfunctional touring theater troupe. Flubbed lines, missed cues, cast frictions, slamming doors, flying sardines...
The PCRT production stars Broadway headliner David Bryant* as 'Selsdon.' Bryant is well known for his 'Marius' in the original cast of "Les Miserables," as well as starring in Broadway's "Sunday in the Park with George," "Showboat," and "Amadeus" among other hits.
The story: Brimming with slapstick comedy and high-camp, "Noises Off" is a fond look at the follies of theatre folk, whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss, and passionate affairs turn every performance into a high-risk adventure. The plot line captures the on-the-road theatre troupe's production of "Nothing On" in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and a performance towards the end of a debilitating run.
"Noises Off" is directed by PCRT co-founder and critically acclaimed Director/Actor David Judson, who also serves as Artistic Director. Joining Judson in bringing his vision to the Firehouse stage are Associate Artistic Director Joy Sherratt, and Artistic Associate Amy Franklin Leonards.
The PCRT "Noises Off" cast includes national touring and regional professional actors, notably David Judson* as 'Lloyd' (starred in National Tour of "Shear Madness" - longest running play/comedy in U.S. History), Michael Doppe* as 'Gary,' and Ayelet Firstenberg* as 'Brooke.' Ayelet most recently appeared in the world premiere of Stephen Schwartz's new musical "The Prince of Egypt" at Theatreworks. Rounding out the professional cast of 9 are Jennifer Stark as 'Dotty,' Hannah Keller as 'Poppy,' Ross Neuenfeldt as 'Frederick,' Salim Razawi as 'Tim,' and Brandy Collazo as 'Belinda.'
