Dance Generators, an intergenerational dance company housed at the University of San Francisco, brings together artists ranging in age from 21 to 90 for choreographic experimentation at ODC. Collective movement rituals, improvisational scores, collaborative choreographic prompts, reflection, and dialogue guide research of ageism as it intersects with other forms of discrimination in the field. Directed by Liv Schaffer and in collaboration with Dazaun Soleyn, this group of artists will examine practices for creating across racial and generational polarities. The week will culminate in a public sharing that illuminates cogenerated ideas, values, and physicalities emergent to bridging divides.
