Founder and Executive Director of APPEAL (Asian Pacific Partners for Empowerment, Advocacy and Leadership) Rod Lew will discuss the demographic trend of tobacco use among Asian/Asian American communities in the United States, with a special focus on California. He will detail current tobacco policies, contextualizing the current trend towards e-cigarettes.
Before his talk CHSA staff will explore the historic use of tobacco in Chinatown and display collection items related to tobacco within the Chinese American communities of the United States.
