The Pew Charitable Trusts (Pew) and CivicMakers are hosting the “Parks & Tech Challenge” to develop creative solutions that leverage technology to address the National Park Service’s (NPS) $11.3 billion backlog of compounding repairs on facilities, trails and infrastructure, known as “deferred maintenance.”
The Challenge will harness the passion and expertise of technologists, designers, sustainability specialists, entrepreneurs, businesses, outdoor enthusiasts, and park experts. These diverse participants will work together to develop innovative ways to help NPS modernize and restore the National Park System for the 21st century.
