Parenting as a Journey of Growth at The Oakland Breema Center

SEE EVENT DETAILS
With Jon Schreiber, DC, Alexandra Johnson, MD, and Alexis Mulhauser

If we approach parenting as a journey of growth, we can use our interactions with our children as a way to learn more about ourselves and our expectations. This attitude creates a mutually supportive dynamic that facilitates personal growth for parent and child. Breema and the Nine Principles of Harmony support us to approach parenting with willingness, offering tools like No Force, Firmness and Gentleness, and Mutual Support. With them, we can meet children at any stage of their development with open-heartedness and an interest in increasing harmony in the relationship. The Nine Principles also show us the value of self-acceptance when the journey is challenging.

Explore how we can come to a more balanced and open posture toward our children and ourselves. We will learn self-care exercises that can bring body and mind together at any point in the day, and simple partner bodywork exchanges that can be practiced with other family members to support calm and greater connection in the relationship.

Please wear clean comfortable clothing, socks, and no fragrances, and arrive 10 minutes early to register.

Continuing Education: The Breema Center is approved to offer continuing education for bodyworkers by the NCBTMB (#145251-00); registered nurses by the California BRN (#3852), and LMFTs, LCSWs, and LPCCs by the CAMFT (#128568). $10 processing fee applies.
