Paper Making: A letter made from the past for the future.
In this introduction to handmade paper making, participants will use their own dryer lint to create a piece of paper and an envelope. Julia will share the basic steps of paper making in a playful, experimental, accessible and sustainable way. As an antidote to digital communication, participants are encouraged to use the handmade stationary to write a letter to their future selves.
To participate in this workshop you will need the following:
Lint from your dryer (about two handfuls)
4 pieces of recycled office paper
**Unpainted/unfinished smooth plywood scrap, ideally bigger than 16" x 24" a plexiglass sheet would also work

2 Old pillow cases or similar amount of fabric
2 Old towels
Offset spatula from your kitchen or painters palette knife
**We encourage you to use your own materials, but you can collect your own materials or purchase a materials kit at checkout.**
