On Friday, May 20th, the weekend’s celebration kicks off at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center with a screening of Robert Stone’s environmental classic, Pandora’s Promise. Following the screening, we will hold a Q&A with Director Robert Stone via Skype from his home in New York. Additionally, Ross Koningstein, an Atherton resident involved in the creation of the film will participate in the “Q&A” with the audience, which our own AP Environmental Science teacher, Lance Powell who is Menlo-Atherton High School’s foremost Environmentalist, will moderate.
The film explores the conundrum: “Can you be an environmentalist and be
pro-nuclear?” and “In light of climate change, can you be an environmentalist and NOT be pro-nuclear?”
