Pan Theater is an Oakland, California based improv troupe focusing on scene work and long form improvisational theater. We perform in Oakland at 2135 Broadway, one block away from BART. We are the East Bay's largest improv theater training center. We have been performing, practicing and offering workshops in improv continuously since February of 2002.
Troupe Auditions and Troupe Training Improv Classes
Hundreds of students begin or further their performance training with us every year through our Troupe Training program. Many performers launch their acting careers by becoming part of our improv community. Our main performing troupe actively recruits from our Troupe Training program. Students can learn and practice short form comedy, and long form improv. Alumni groups have regular performance opportunities. Most of our directors have begun with either our Improv Basics class in Oakland, or our Troupe Improv Theater Training program.

Improv Classes and Acting Classes
Our style is a mix of Spolin based improv technique heavily influenced by Meisner technique. Our classes, workshops, and classes provide solid training in improv acting technique. We offer classes at every level and also offer advanced workshops for those with prior training. Our Improv Basics class provides a solid introduction to our style of acting. Our Intro to Improv Class is a fun way to explore Improv. Our monthly drop in class provides scene training, and long form practice.
