Palio d’Asti Restaurant To Celebrate Italian Father’s Day in San Francisco
Annual Feast Offers a 5 Course Range of Authentic Dishes on Tuesday, March 19

No matter whose daddy you are, Palio d’Asti in downtown San Francisco is the place to be on Tuesday, March 19 when they offer up a table groaning array of dishes in honor of Italian Father’s Day. This annual event, known as St. Joseph’s Feast, is served on family style platters with 5 antipasti starters, 3 different risotto, 4 entrees plus vegetables, and a luscious Sicilian cheesecake to share. Located between Union Square and the Financial District and close to all major hotels and Moscone Center; seatings are available from 5-9pm with 2 hours free validated parking a decided bonus. Price is $55 per person and children under 13 pay their age.

Palio’s menu for its March event - like all dishes served throughout the year- are made with organic and sustainable ingredients from local family farmers, ranchers and fishermen. Voted a “2012 Diners Choice” favorite by Open Table users and named among the Top 3 “Best Bay Area Italian” in SFGate.com’s most recent readers’ poll, diners also enjoy a full range of bar cocktails (including a mix and match Manhattan Project), a Wine Spectator award winning wine list and Michelin rated comfortable dining with gracious, white tablecloth service.

“La Festa di San Giuseppe is always a fun evening at Palio,” said Owner Martino DiGrande, the 29 year old scion of a Sicilian family who oversees all operations and personally greets every guest. “I look forward to offering favorite dishes just like Nonna (grandmother) used to make. I suggest that everyone wear comfortable clothes with a loose waistband because there’s a lot of great food to try.”

Tuesday’s dinner is truly a shared feast whether you’re with family or friends. The meal begins with Venetian Style Crab Stuffed Devilled Eggs, Thinly Sliced Fennel with Orange Segments and Lemon Vinaigrette and San Danielle Proscuitto, followed by warm Marinated Olives with Braised Hot and Sweet Peppers and Grilled Garlic Bread and Duo de Polente Fritte- Corn/Buckwheat Polenta and Ceci Bean Panelle served with Chili and White Truffle Aioli. Moving onto comforting Risotti, guests get to try all three made with a classic Meat Ragu, Tuscan Style Spicy Seafood and a Wild Mushroom version. Still hungry? Secondi e Contorni Entrees feature Gamberi Fra Diavolo (Spicy Sautéed White Prawns), Pollo Arrosto (Rosemary and Garlic Crusted Lemon Chicken), Maiale Arrosto (Slow Roasted Pork), and Polpette di Vitello (Tender Veal Meatballs); all accompanied by a platter of roasted root vegetables. Cassata, a Sicilian Ricotta Cheesecake that DiGrande considers the “ultimate” dessert, appropriately ends the meal for everyone- with coffee and after dinner digestives such as cognac or house made limoncello from a Di Grande family recipe available for the grownups.
