Out of Earth (De Huma):
Humans are creatures that return to earth, creatures that will be buried. Our bodies are also burial sites: our physical selves store all kinds of information and impulses, images and anxieties, beliefs and fantasies.
Through choreography and rock and roll, Out of Earth (De Huma) excavates our internal experience of the violence of contemporary capitalism, and exhumes the anger, fear, wisdom, and hope buried in our muscles, organs and psyches, as resources to instigate change.
Choreographed by Lili Weckler and the dancers, with songwriting by Lili Weckler, Daniel Larlham, and Sarah Chenowith, Out of Earth is a collaborative project, emerging out of several months of collective exploration by the dancers and musicians involved.
