Dr. John P. Holdren is Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).
Congress established the Office of Science and Technology Policy in 1976 with a broad mandate to advise the President and others within the Executive Office of the President on the effects of science and technology on domestic and international affairs.
We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Holdren and our moderator, John Markoff, the Pulitzer prize winning senior writer of The New York Times science section. Please join us, as we will learn more about the Director and his mandate, as well as many of the initiatives the OSTP has put in place.
