Orphan Thanksgiving Potluck Picnic @ Golden Gate Park

SEE EVENT DETAILS
What will everyone be doing?
For those who can't make it home for Thanksgiving this year, come spend it with us. Every year we get an awesome attendance for this event. This year let's spend Thanksgiving afternoon at beautiful Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park! All are welcomed. Bring a dish or drink to share - better dishes/drinks makes better friends!

What does everyone need to know?
*** COST ***  FREE for MeetMoreYou members (registration is FREE and takes just 1 minute; signup at https://meetmoreyou.com/ and then rsvp to this event), OR $15 for non-members (purchase by card online here or bring CASH to the event).
RAIN = CANCEL. This is an outdoor event so if it rains, we must cancel. We will post an announcement here 24 hours in advance. So check back if the weather doesn't seem promising.
I will cook and bring a 20+ lbs turkey again this year! We will need a lot of side dishes and soda, beer, wine and water (Alcohol is technically not allowed in the park, but just don't show it and you should be fine. I.e. use plastic cups). No chips please; bring a side dish and/or drinks. We bring some paper and plastic supplies. We'll have a cooler with ice. There will be no grill. Dogs must be kept on lease.
Traditional Thanksgiving Side Dishes: Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing, Baked Yams, Green Bean Casserole, Corn Bread, Pumpkin Pie, etc. But you don't have to bring traditional Thanksgiving fare. Everyone will be pleased with different side dishes, salads, veggie+hummus plates, cheese plates, fruit, different desserts, but please NO CHIPS. In addition to food and drinks, feel free to bring picnic supplies (paper plates, cups, plastic utensils), and camping lanterns if you have them (so we can stay after dark).
BRING LAYERS, it can get very cold in GGP especially when the sun goes down. Stow Lake also has some beautiful hikes and row boat & paddle boat options too (the boat rentals do operate on Thanksgiving Day but will close early, around 4pm).

How can everyone find you once they get there?
We will try to get the picnic tables to the right of Stow Lake Boathouse (as you're looking at the lake). If that's taken, Plan B is the picnic area behind the parking lot of the boathouse (look for trails that will lead to a large open area). Walk around, ask around, and look for some balloons... and the Thanksgiving turkey!
Public Transportation: please use http://511.org or https://maps.google.com to map your path/options.
PARKING: NOTE: John F Kennedy Dr may be closed (from Stanyan St to Crossover Dr) on Thanksgiving day. There is parking all around Stow Lake (but navigating that one-way street can be a bit tricky). You can also park near John F Kennedy Dr and Transverse Dr, then walk over to the boathouse (about 5 mins).

*** COST ***  Again, this social is FREE for MeetMoreYou members (registration is FREE and takes just 1 minute; signup at https://meetmoreyou.com/ then rsvp to this event), OR $15 for non-members (purchase by card online here or bring CASH to the event).
