Electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) developments are increasingly in the news this year. Major car and aircraft makers, startups, network operators, and investors are taking the business of urban passenger air transit seriously. More than $1 billion has been invested in eVTOL research and development— even before government regulations are finalized. Investors bet electric air taxis can be operational within 10 years.
