One Journey is a grassroots movement launched by two immigrants, Vanda Berninger and Wendy Chan, in 2017 to help change the narrative about refugees. The One Journey movement strives to create a world where refugees and other displaced people are welcomed, valued, and supported so they and their host communities can thrive together. In its inaugural year, One Journey hosted a series of awareness-raising and compassion-building events in the Washington DC metropolitan area that culminated in the One Journey Festival on June 2nd at the Washington National Cathedral. The Festival, the first national celebration of refugee talents, stories and contributions, welcomed over 4,000 participants. We look forward to hosting our second annual festival in June 2019.
