Be among the first to preview ODC/Dance Artistic Director Brenda Way’s newest piece-in-the-making, Book of Hours. Inspired by the medieval illuminated manuscript Les Tres Riche Heures du Duc de Berry, this work loosely explores the seasons of life. Crafted in a distinct gestural movement language, the work unfolds to the memorable vocal strains of Meredith Monk. Idiosyncratic and intimate in feel, the piece features six of ODC's most expressive dancers.

ODC/San Francisco, one of the Nation's premier modern dance companies, announces the return of its wildly popular event series, ODCunplugged. Presented by the ODC/San Francisco Auxiliary in conjunction with the ODC Theater & Gallery, ODCunplugged is a rare opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of new artistic work by ODC's three choreographers - Brenda Way, KT Nelson, and Kimi Okada.
In 1999, ODC/San Francisco conceived the ODCunplugged series, to introduce new audiences to the spectacle of modern dance. In the spirit of innovation and exploration, ODCunplugged gives both returning and first time audiences an opportunity to experience new works in progress in an environment that is both informal and interactive. Presented in ODC's Mission District performance space, the evening opens with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a wine bar in the Gallery followed by a preview of new choreographic pieces under development. After the performance, patrons will participate in a question and answer session with the choreographer and the 10 ODC dancers, and enjoy the chance to contribute to the continued development of the piece. The ODCunplugged series is sponsored by Ramblas Tapas Bar, Thirsty Bear, and SF Station.
