Celebrate the closing weekend of Lawrence Weiner's playful, hopscotch-like mural OUT OF SIGHT with a series of performances by Oakland Originalz. Oakland Originalz is a crew of break dancers, tumblers, and more. Through performance and teaching, they aim to inspire and educate on the history and styles of traditional B-boying. Today, they will enliven the Exploratorium's public plaza and celebrate OUT OF SIGHT through a series of breakdancing performances responding to the work.
These performances are organized in collaboration with Hip Hop for Change, an Oakland-based nonprofit that uses grassroots activism to educate people about socioeconomic injustices and advocate solutions through hip-hop culture.
Lawrence Weiner: OUT OF SIGHT is presented in San Francisco by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in partnership with McEvoy Foundation for the Arts and the Exploratorium. OUT OF SIGHT is a project of See The Vision, Grab The Vision, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to producing innovative public art and programming designed to engage, inspire, and empower youth and participants of all ages.
