St. Paul's Episcopal Church is honored to partner with the Office of Mayor Barbara Lee to host a community Ceasefire Teach-In on Saturday, July 19, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Sanctuary - 114 Montecito Avenue, Oakland.
This neighborhood event is part of the Ceasefire Teach-In Series, an initiative by Mayor Lee and the Mayor's Public Safety Working Group to engage local communities in meaningful dialogue about ending gun violence in Oakland.
Speakers will include Mayor Barbara Lee, Police Chief Floyd Mitchell, and Violence Prevention Chief Dr. Holly Joshi, along with other public safety leaders. Together, they will unpack the data, strategies, and evolution of Oakland's Ceasefire program-an evidence-based approach that has been central to the city's efforts to reduce gun violence.
"We are deeply committed to peace and justice in our community," said the Rev. Dr. Mauricio Wilson, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. "We are grateful for the opportunity to host this vital conversation and invite all of our neighbors to join us."
