Join renowned architect CHAD OPPENHEIM for a lively discussion about his book Spirit of Place (Tra Publishing). His award-winning firm, Oppenheim Architecture, is known for architecture that celebrates the natural world and the inherent power of each site. As he puts it, “for thousands of years, civilization has constructed its buildings on the land. We prefer to construct our buildings with the land, where architecture recedes and becomes a frame.” Oppenheim’s work encompasses all realms of design, ranging from large-scale urban architecture, hotels, resorts, and luxury homes to interiors and furnishings.
Chad Oppenheim is the founder of Oppenheim Architecture (Miami, Basel, New York). The firm has received more than seventy industry distinctions, including the Cooper Hewitt 2018 National Design Award and the Silver Medal for Design, the highest distinction bestowed by the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Oppenheim Architecture has worked on projects in twenty-three countries in North America, Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia/Pacific regions. Additionally, the firm has designed homes for notable artists and film professionals, including producer and director Michael Bay and musician Pharrell Williams.
The firm’s work has been published internationally in numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Design Milk, ELLE Décor, Modern Luxury, Surface, Dezeen, and Architectural Record.
Refreshments served. Lecture followed by book signing.
