Mike Boss purchased Sonoma Horticultural Nursery in 2017, saving if from the hands of a real estate developer.
At Hidden Forest Nursery Mike Boss will continue growing rhododendrons and is expanding his offerings of shade loving plants. He is very excited to be offering a new line of long lived edibles: trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennials: plants that one can build a garden with that will not only add structure and texture to a garden, but also food, tea, herbs, and medicines.
Not only does Hidden Forest Nursery have a large selection of rhododendrons (especially maddenii rhododendrons which are perfect for container gardening in the patio of a condo or an apartment), there are also a wide variety of plants such as Japanese maples, magnolia, dogwood, clematis, weigela, lapageria, and campanula.
Hidden Forest Nursery has a large display garden (which in it has a large pond) consisting of several acres with over one and a half miles of pathways, and is a good place to visit and see how plants grow, especially in the Spring when rhododendrons and other plants are in bloom.
