"Our message is to show that no matter our origins and/or our trials we can still pursue something more for ourselves. We make films that are relatable, entertaining, and to show what has been forgotten."
Please join us for an inspiring evening of youth-made films, light refreshments, and discussion as the New Door Film Group premieres their work.
The featured piece is an experimental film called "The Trip." Highlighting the Bay Area and the inspiration young people can draw from it, this talented group of New Door alumni and interns spent three days filming in Chinatown, North Beach, Bayview, and Mission neighborhoods. "The Trip" follows the story and perspective of a young black man as he challenges stereotypes.
An animation piece with other short films will be showcased.
A reception with light refreshments (non-alcoholic) begins at 6:00 pm at the Joe Good Performance Group Theater.
Films will begin at 6:30.
All are welcome! Invite your friends and bring the whole family!
Thanks to your support our Youth Film Group can continue to learn and produce relatable entertaining films.
