Please join us on the USS Hornet as we officially unveil our newest aircraft: The F/A-18C Hornet! This aircraft is from the Pensacola National Naval Aviation Museum. The aircraft will be arriving at the Oakland Airport during the week prior to this event and then will be brought aboard the USS Hornet, reassembled and put on display!

This F/A-18C was one of two VFA-81 Sunliners who shot down a pair of MIG-21 Fishbeds on the 1st day of Operation Desert Storm on January 17th, 1991. The pilot that day was CAPT Nick "Mongo" Mongillo, USN (ret.).
