Neurodivergent Convergence: Media, Mind, & Spirit

SEE EVENT DETAILS

Where do trauma, media, race, mental health, and spirit intersect? What is mental health and what are the barriers to you being seen? How do you communicate vulnerably across difference? What the hell is going on with our country? Do you sense a burning deep within but also globally? Are you tired of oppressive ideals and white supremacy in new age spirituality?

Join Jenara Nerenberg and Daisy Ozim for a raw, vulnerable, and ultimately uplifting and healing encounter around the forces shaping our individual wellbeing and that of our country's.

Jenara Nerenberg is a reporter who's work appears in Fast Company, Susan Cain's Quiet, CNN, Garrison Institute, NYMAG, and the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. She publishes frequently on neurodiversity, trauma, social justice, and spirituality and has interviewed the leading thinkers of our time including Gabor Mate, Krista Tippett, and numerous others. Jenara is the Founder of The Neurodiveristy Project & Neurodivergent Convergence.* She is currently at work on her first book and splits her time between the Bay Area and South Asia.

Daisy Ozim is the Director of Resilient Wellness, a health system designed to end the cycles of multi-generational trauma in communities of color. She has been involved in community-based outreach and advocacy and civic youth engagement since her late teens. As a seasoned health advocate based in the San Francisco bay area, she's a fierce proponent of health and wellness as well as decolonizing all aspects of the public sector. She dedicates time outside of her advocacy life to train in holistic health. In addition, she has worked on several issues including health care quality for young women, public health implications of police violence, increasing visibility of self-care for social justice advocates and political empowerment for young women.

Come to this event to heal, connect, open up, speak what you've wanted to speak, cry what you've needed to cry, and lay to rest old narratives that have been on their way out for some time now...
