Negroni Week at Novela

For Negroni Week we are going to be partnering with Campari and Diageo to create a Negroni Tea Party! Diageo will be hosting a Mad Hatter Tea Party on Wednesday 6/7, and Campari will be having a happy hour on Tuesday 6/6. We will be featuring three riffs on the Negroni and its variants with tea selected by our Diageo Consultant Tony Devencenzi and our Lead Bartender, Jordan Sakai, from a local business.

We will be doing the following three drinks:

(1) A Silver Needle Tea infused Tanqueray 10 negroni with Campari and Ambre vermouth served in a tea cup. This will be paired with a Madeline cookie we are making stuffed with a juniper meringue, and accompanied by an Aperol Strawberry Marmalade.

(2) A Ginseng Oolong infused negroni bianco with Tanqueray Rangpur, served in a matcha dusted glass and accompanied by Cinzano 1757 marinated olives.

(3) And finally a punch bowl sized riff on a negroni spagliato using Puerh and Cocoa infused Tanqueray Bloomsbury, Campari oleo saccrum, and Lambrusco. We will be pairing that with cheese (possibly) or some other rich small fare that we are currently working on.

Negroni Week launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charities around the world. From 2013 to 2016, Negroni Week grew from about 100 participating venues to 6,000 venues around the world, and to date, they have collectively raised nearly $900,000 for charitable causes.
