Come explore the Green Hairstreak Butterfly Corridor and learn how this dune-system-obligated butterfly (once nearly extirpated in San Francisco) is now thriving with help from Nature in the City and volunteers in the Golden Gate Heights neighborhood overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Walk Leaders: Liam O’Brien and Amber Hasselbring
Liam O’Brien is a San Francisco - and beyond - lepidopterist, lichen enthusiast, moth-man and above all, an artist and illustrator. O’Brien brought the idea of the Green Hairstreak Corridor to Nature in the City and was instrumental to its growth from 2007 to 2010.
Amber Hasselbring is the Director of Nature in the City, an artist, and has been coordinating the care and stewardship of the Green Hairstreak Corridor since 2013.
