Join us for a day of trail stewardship in the Presidio on National Trails Day 2017!
Our stewardship focus this year centers on making trails accessible and fun for all. Activities will include maintaining trails, fence updating projects, and restoring native habitat near El Polin Spring. Family-friendly projects will be available and volunteers of all ages are welcome. Following the work day, there will be a burrito lunch and a raffle.
We’ll kick things off at El Polín Spring at 9 AM. There are a few ways to access El Polín and, due to very limited parking in that area, you’ll want to consider the below transportation options.
Parking: There’s limited parking on MacArthur Street as well as Portola Street. There’s also paid parking located near Quarry Road and Fernandez Street. Additionally, we have reserved the YMCA Reach parking lot as well as the parking lot at Presidio and Martinez. From the Presidio and Martinez, you can take a portion of the Lover’s Lane trail to El Polín.
Public Transportation: You can also take the free PresidiGo Shuttle or the 43 MUNI bus line to the Transit Center in the Presidio and follow the Lover’s Lane trail to El Polín.
See the Getting to the Presidio page for more information.
It’ll be a great day – hope to see you there.
