National Steinbeck Center’s Ag Forum Join Us For BUYER BEWARE OR BUYER BE AWARE? - Wednesday, June 19

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Ag Forum has been one of the National Steinbeck Center's most popular programs and we are excited to bring it back in 2013.

The Ag Forum began in 2003 and was designed to examine the current issues affecting the agriculture industry as well as its consumers.

It is a great opportunity to involve compelling speakers from a variety of fields in discussions of topics that are provocative and relevant to the agricultural sector.
THESE ARE THE TOPICS in 2013:
Buyer Beware or Buyer Be Aware?

Wednesday, June 19, 11:30 – 1:30PM
Special Guest Speakers, Stacy Malkan from the California Right to Know Campaign and Shawn Cronin from the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program
Join us for a conversation about food labeling and how it impacts consumer buying habits. Local versus not; green packaging, responsible farming and carbon footprints….the list of claims around perishables continues to grow. What role does the consumer play in shaping food policy and marketing? When did grocery shopping or dining out become an exercise in social responsibility?

Wine provided by Mercy Vineyards, Catering by Tarpy’s Roadhouse
